ABV: 41% Proof: 82. Evansburg was the name of the town of Conneaut Lake before 1892. This brandy is made with Vidal Grapes (same ones used to make cognac), these grapes grow very well in the Lake Erie area. The grapes are fermented into wine and then distilled twice, which then yields brandy. The unaged brandy is then transferred into toasted French oak barrels (from a traditional cognac barrel producer) for one year. After it is then transferred into Conneaut Cellars used Chardonnay barrels for the last two years. This spirit yields a flavor profile similar to a very oaky Chardonnay, you taste the oak and you taste the fruit with a touch of sweetness, overall quite easy drinking.
