ABV: 47.5% Proof 95. (100% Malted Rye). Made from Deer Creek MaltHouse malted rye and then aged for 2 years in new American oak and then finished in sherry casks from Spain. The name of the whiskey comes from the tale of unfortunate Fortunato who was buried alive in a tomb of sherry barrels. The nose is complex with nutty and briney notes, along with a little honey and fruit. The palate is full and well rounded and you’ll pick up a little spice with that same briney quality, along with dried fruit, and chocolate.
