100% 2017 Blaufrankisch. Vineyard: Olde Chautauqua Farms. Fermentation: On skins for 7 days with punch downs 2-3 times a day. Aged 14 months in new French and multi use French and Hungarian oak barrels. Blaufrankisch is a Austrian variety that grows quite well in the Lake Erie region. It is a dry red with a light to medium body and a beautiful ruby color. You’ll find light fruity notes to go along with oak a touch of coconut. This wine pairs well with a hearty stew or pasta with a tomato or vinegar-based sauce. Also works wonderfully as a base of a sangria.
