61% Shiraz, 39% Noiret. Vineyard: Olde Chautauqua Farms (Noiret). Fermentation: on skins for 7 days, punch downs 2-3 times a day. Aged 12 months in first and second use French and American oak barrels. Ripper Red brings together two complementary wines, the locally grown Noiret and a Shiraz made from juice that was sourced from Australia. The result is an intensely colored red that is dry yet has a pleasant sweetness that makes this approachable to the masses. You might pick up berry notes with some pepper and light tannins. This rips with any kind of grilled meat.
